GlobalSim to Deliver Premium Crane Simulator to South Carolina Ports Authority

Sandy, UT – GlobalSim, Inc. announced today that it has contracted with South Carolina Ports Authority (SCPA) to provide a high-tech crane simulator for training crane operators. In preparation for the growth of trade in the coming years, SCPA has invested in a premium Full Mission System to provide training to crane operators on Ship-to-Shore (STS) cranes and Rubber Tired Gantry (RTG) cranes. The Full Cabin simulator will be configured with multiple large-format LED displays and will also include a 3 Degree-Of Freedom (3 DOF) motion system underneath the entire cab. Also included are custom controls from Brieda Cabins that will be used to accurately simulate specific crane types that are used on the port at SCPA. “We have worked with SCPA for some time on this project – the new simulator will provide a high level of realism and will be an effective training tool for their organization” remarks Brad Ball, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at GlobalSim. Keith Nell, General Manager of Tideworks Operations at SCPA “After a significant amount of research, we are happy to finalize this deal with GlobalSim and look forward with great anticipation to receiving the simulator early next year.” The simulator is currently being developed at GlobalSim’s headquarters in the Salt Lake City, Utah area. Once completed, the systems will go through rigorous testing before being sent to SCPA and installed in early 2019. For more information about GlobalSim’s crane simulator, please click here.
