GlobalSim has just concluded a successful user conference in conjunction with a product showcase which took place September 11-13. The conference, which was held in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah and Park City, Utah, was the 2nd such event held by GlobalSim since the company executed a management buyout in early 2016.
Education sessions at the conference focused on topics such as visual effects, best practices for training managers, scenario and curriculum development, future product design, and incorporating virtual reality simulators into a training environment. GlobalSim managers also conducted a useful feedback session to receive input for future development projects.
“We brought together some of our best clients from around the world”, says Brad Ball, GlobalSim’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, who helped organize the event. “The User Conference was twice the size of last year’s event – we had clients and attendees from all around the world who were eager to learn and collaborate with each other.” Participants in this year’s conference came from Belgium, Canada, France, Japan, Philippines, Morocco, and many from within the United States. Some even extended their stay to visit Southern Utah on an excursion to Zions National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park.
Many of the speakers at this year’s conference were GlobalSim clients who gave brief presentations to the attendees on how their organization conducts successful training with simulators. Training consultant Craig Goodwin, from CEG Training Solutions was also a guest speaker at the event.
The conference was held in conjunction with a product showcase featuring three (3) Full Motion Simulators that are set to be delivered to the New York Shipping Association and Port of Newark Container Terminal later this month. Following the educational sessions, participants visited GlobalSim headquarters and had the opportunity to test the new simulators as well as the latest GlobalSim virtual reality simulators which were also on display. “The Conference was very timely for our Team as we were also able to test our new Crane/Strad/RTG Simulators prior to shipping” remarked Barbara Blanton, the Director of Safety and Training at New York Shipping Association. “The information shared by the GlobalSim Associates, in each of the sessions, along with presentations from their Global Clients, made for very interesting and exciting dialogue. We made the right choice in partnering with GlobalSim. Awesome People! Awesome Products!”
The User Conference comes during a period of growth for GlobalSim. “This year alone we’ve sold and delivered 32 simulators and counting” remarks Jonathan McCurdy, GlobalSim’s President and CEO. “As we’ve attracted new customers, we’ve also invested in our business and hired more employees. The User Conference allows us to bring our employees and clients together, gather some feedback, collaborate, and share our vision of the future.”
GlobalSim plans to hold the next User Conference in 2019.
