Ashdod Port Company in Israel Upgrades GlobalSim Crane Simulator

Salt Lake City, UT – Ashdod Port Company (APC) in Israel has finalized their agreement with GlobalSim for a new hardware upgrade and a new crane simulator model. In 2016, APC purchased GlobalSim’s Full Mission system which included the hardware and software applications for a ship-to-shore crane. In November 2018, APC decided to upgrade their current system with custom controls and a new ship-to-shore crane model.“ We have been working with APC for a long time,” stated Ben Ekins, Project Manager at GlobalSim. “We are very excited about the completion of this project because the semi-automatic ship-to-shore crane will offer the type of cranes they see in Israel” remarked Ekins. The new hardware upgrade will feature Breida controls physically configured according to APC’s ship-to-shore crane modeled after the ZPMC STS functionality. The controls are mounted on the operator’s seat inside the Full Mission cabin where it behaves in the new semi-automatic mode.“ Our long-term relationship with GlobalSim was the reason we were so confident they could deliver the customizations we asked for in the simulator” exclaimed Ronen Elfassi, Head Simulator Instructor at APC. “This upgrade and new STS crane model will undoubtedly increase the training for our crane operators” said Ronen. APC’s Factory Acceptance Test took place last week at GlobalSim’s headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah and are expected to receive their new system March 2019.
