Updated: Sep 17

Today GlobalSim is pleased to announce it has been working with South Carolina Ports Authority (SCPA) to deliver two new Full Mission simulators to Charleston, South Carolina. One of the simulators has already been installed at the training facility in Charleston, another is currently being developed at GlobalSim headquarters and will undergo testing before being shipped and installed in late Q3.

“It’s been a pleasure working with SCPA” remarks Brad Ball, GlobalSim’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “SCPA has experienced significant growth in the past few years and they’ve fully embraced simulation as a core part of their curriculum for training STS and RTG crane operators.”

SCPA previously purchased a Full Mission system from GlobalSim in 2018. The new systems will significantly expand their ability to train operators in Charleston and other smaller ports in South Carolina. Both new systems feature a full cabin motion base, integrated virtual reality, and various customizations specific to SCPA, including ergonomic Brieda controls sourced from Italy. These will improve RTG and STS crane operator training.

Michael Doniphan, Director of Container Operations at SCPA states " the simulator has cut our training program time by 25%. The non-live training allows for a safe instruction time. SCPA has been pleased with the partnership it has had with GlobalSim for the last four years."
